In October 2014, I moved from South Dakota to Armenia, Colombia to teach English at the SENA (Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje) center. These are my stories!

For more information on how I got involved with this program and to apply, you can check out http://greenhearttravel.org/program/adult/teach/teach-in-colombia

Sadly, in June 2015, it was time for me to return to the states. However, I am excited to be embarking on an exciting new journey as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Tucson, Arizona. VISTA is a national service program aimed at fighting poverty. I will continue to post here about my experiences in the VISTA program.

  1. Hi there!

I recently applied for a SENA position through Greenheart Travel. I’d be starting orientation in June. Love reading through your blog! Your posts have given me great insight on living, working, and traveling in Colombia. I have a few questions I’d like you to ask you. If you ever have a free moment, please contact me – jmplague@gmail.com. Looking forward to hearing from you!
